In both layout
design and content, Alpine Trailblazer is the very model of what
a user friendly outdoor guide should be.
The Midwest Book Review
Often, guidebooks
are either too dry to summon images of exciting historic and scenic interest
or so chatty and banal that one hesitates to follow a prescribed route
for fear of running into the author along the way. Happily, Alpine
Trailblazer promotes a desire to experience everything in it.

Check out Alpine
Trailblazer, the new outdoor bible. Somehow the Sprouts have managed
to condense enough information for a ten-volume work into one utterly
useful book.
The Sundance Bookstore, Reno
If youre
looking for one book as a guide to hiking from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe,
this is it. Having personally hiked several of the trails they describe,
its easy to see they know what theyre talking about. Their
descriptions of trails, biking and boating are dead on in terms easy to
understand with directions easy to follow. Diversions Magazine

book is a mouth-waterer. I cant stand not being able to hop in the

"Five stars. This
book is beautifully designed and useful, useful, useful.
Amazon.com review
"Reverently,
and often entertainingly irreverently, the authors of Trailblazer trace
the wonders of scenic Alpine County so completely that one cant
wait to pull on hiking boots, skis, waders, cowboy boots or driving shoes
and get on the mapped-out trails. Jerry and Janine Sprout cover the Alpine
Sierra not only from a poetical and artistic perspective, but from an
analytical, historical and scientific view.
Alpine Historical Society Review
I have a lot
of good outdoor guides for California, but my favorite is Alpine Trailblazer
by Jerry and Janine Sprout. Its the best of the Sierra.
Biran Beffort, Reno Gazette Journal

The Nevada Record Courier
Directions are
plentiful and easy to understand. The authors also have a sense of humor.
Eclectic Book Reviews, New York
Hiking at the
top of the world! Written with a delightful sense of humor and revealing
more than 20 years of research. Despite its levity in places, most of
the information in Alpine Trailblazer is written as a no-nonsense,
information-packed guidebook.
